What to expect...

COVID-19 UPDATE: NEW YORKERS - CLICK HERE to go to nyc.gov/Cupid to learn more about getting married online.  On April 18, 2020, Governor Cuomo signed Executive Order 202.20 allowing the issuance of a marriage license application, marriage license, or witnessing or solemnizing of the marriage ceremony to be performed utilizing audio-video technology provided that several conditions are met including each spouse must present a valid photo ID and be together in New York State during the conference.  We at MARRIAGENYC.COM can conduct your wedding via Zoom or other video conferencing tools once you have obtained your marriage license virtually through the City Clerk's Office of New York

The marriage officiant conducts the wedding ceremony at the location of your choice (restrictions apply)*. The marriage license, provided by the couple, will be signed by the officiant, the couple, and at least two (2) witnesses above the age of 18 with proper identification. Afterward, the marriage officiant will mail the signed marriage license to the appropriate City Clerks Office and mail a copy of the signed marriage license to the couple's mailing address. Four (4) to six (6) weeks later, the couple will receive the official marriage certificate in the mail from the City Clerks Office.
